A two-day Capacity Development Workshop on Just Energy Transition, held on April 6–7, 2026, has officially commenced in Jashore. The workshop is jointly organized by ActionAid Bangladesh and JETnet-BD, bringing together participants from Barishal and Khulna divisions to deepen their understanding and strengthen engagement on Just Energy Transition (JET).
The event aims to build knowledge, foster collaboration, and empower stakeholders to actively contribute to a fair and inclusive energy transition process in Bangladesh.
The first day of the workshop started with an insightful session titled “Just Energy Transition – Concepts, Principles, Global and Local Perspectives & Governance Dynamics.” The session was facilitated by Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Manager of Just Energy Transition at ActionAid Bangladesh and Member Secretary of JETnet-BD.
During the session, participants were introduced to the core concepts and guiding principles of Just Energy Transition. The discussion explored how global perspectives on clean and sustainable energy can be effectively aligned with the local context of Bangladesh. Special emphasis was placed on governance dynamics, highlighting the importance of policy frameworks, stakeholder inclusion, and accountability in ensuring a just and equitable transition.
The workshop brought together diverse voices, encouraging participants to share experiences and insights from their respective regions. This interactive approach is expected to enhance collective understanding and promote coordinated efforts toward sustainable energy practices.
Overall, the initiative marks a significant step toward building capacity and fostering regional collaboration for a Just Energy Transition in Bangladesh, ensuring that no community is left behind in the shift toward a greener future.
