Empowering Adolescent Girls: Nutrition and Maternal Health Awareness Program Held at Amjhupi Secondary School

On July 16, 2018Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, with the support of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, organized a special awareness session at Amjhupi Secondary School, Meherpur. The program focused on educating adolescent girls about nutrition and maternal health, along with the free distribution of safe sanitary napkins.

🎯 Program Objectives:

  •  To raise awareness among adolescent girls about proper nutrition and its role in reproductive health.
  • To promote safe menstrual hygiene practices.
  • To encourage early knowledge and care for maternal health among future mothers.

🗣️ Chief Guest:

Bikash Kumar Das, Deputy Director of the Family Planning Office, Meherpur, attended the event as the Chief Guest, sharing valuable insights and encouragement with the students.

🛍️ Key Activities:

  • Informative discussion sessions on maternal health and adolescent nutrition.
  • Free distribution of safe and hygienic sanitary napkins to schoolgirls.
  • Interaction between health professionals and students to address questions and concerns.

🌱 Outcome:

The initiative aimed to build confidence and awareness among young girls, enabling them to make informed health choices and adopt hygienic practices that contribute to long-term well-being.
