Citizen Manifesto Presented to Candidates of Meherpur-2 in the 13th National Election 2026

Meherpur, 05 February 2026:
On the occasion of the 13th National Election 2026Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, Meherpur, a member organization of Just Energy Transition Bangladesh (JetNet-BD), organized an initiative to present a Citizen Manifesto to the contesting candidates of Constituency 74 – Meherpur-2.

The manifesto was jointly proposed by Just Energy Transition Bangladesh (JetNet-BD) and ActionAid Bangladesh. Through this initiative, the organizers aimed to highlight the importance of environmentally sustainable development, climate justice, and a fair transition toward clean energy in Bangladesh.

During the program, representatives of the organization met with the candidates and explained the key points of the Citizen Manifesto. They requested the candidates to support the proposed commitments and consider these issues in their future policy decisions.

As part of the initiative, signatures were collected from the candidates expressing their support for the manifesto.

Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, Meherpur has long been working on social development, environmental protection, and raising public awareness. The organization believes that ensuring commitments to climate action and sustainable energy at the policy level is essential for building a safer and more sustainable future for the country.
