A discussion meeting titled “Role of Media in Implementing the Smoking and Tobacco Products (Control) Act 2005” was held on Monday at the Meherpur Press Club auditorium. The event was jointly organized by the Meherpur Press Club, Subah Social Development Organization, and WBB Trust.
Presided over by Meherpur Press Club President Al Amin Hossain, the session featured insightful speeches from several notable speakers. Among them were journalist Rafiqul Alam, Subah’s Executive Director Moinul Alam, journalist Mohasin Ali, Zulfikar Ali Kanan, Mir Saud Ali Chandan, and Amirul Islam Aldam.
The discussion focused on the importance of enforcing the Tobacco Control Act and emphasized the significant role the media can play in raising public awareness and influencing policy implementation.
