Discussion Meeting Held in Amjhupi on Dispute Resolution Through Mediation

Meherpur News, December 9, 2014, A discussion meeting titled “Dispute Resolution Through Mediation, Not Litigation” was held at Amjhupi in Meherpur Sadar Upazila under the initiative of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, as part of the “Not Lawsuits, But Mediation” project.

 

The event took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Subah office auditorium and was presided over by Moin-ul-Alam, Executive Director of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha. The chief guest at the meeting was Abu Ahmed Faizul Kabir, HRDF In-Charge of the Central Law and Arbitration Center (Ain o Salish Kendra).

 

Speakers at the session included Abu Naser Chowdhury, Reza, Kibria, Anarul Islam, and Amirul Islam, all members of the HRDF Meherpur branch.

 

The discussion emphasized the importance of community-based mediation in resolving local disputes peacefully and reducing the dependency on formal litigation. The speakers also shared success stories and encouraged more community engagement in alternative dispute resolution practices.
