Human Chain and Leaflet Distribution Held in Meherpur on National No-Tobacco Day 2025

On the occasion of National No-Tobacco Day 2025, Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha organized a human chain and leaflet distribution program in Meherpur, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance and Work for a Better Bangladesh (WBB) Trust.

This year’s theme was:
“Tobacco Cultivation on Agricultural Land – A Threat to Food Security.”
The participants demanded the immediate finalization of the Tobacco Cultivation Control Policy to protect public health and ensure food safety.

After the human chain, a memorandum was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Meherpur, with a copy forwarded to the Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Meherpur.

The event was attended by Mr. Moin-Ul-Alam, Executive Director of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, along with representatives from local organizations.
