International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies Observed in Meherpur

On the occasion of the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, a discussion meeting, pledge ceremony, and sapling distribution program were held in Meherpur Sadar Upazila.

The event took place on Sunday afternoon at Amjhupi Girls’ Secondary School, organized by Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh and the Just Energy Transition Network Bangladesh (JETNet BD).

The discussion session was chaired by Mr. Munshi Jahangir Jinnat, President of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Moin-Ul-Alam, Executive Director of Subah.

Among others, Mr. Hafizur Rahman, Assistant Head Teacher, and Mr. Habibur Rahman, Assistant Teacher of Amjhupi Girls’ Secondary School, also spoke at the event.

Ms. Lubna Yasmin, Admin Officer, and Ms. Fauzia Sultana, Project Coordinator of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, conducted thematic discussions on the importance of clean air and environmental awareness.

At the end of the event, students took a pledge to protect the environment and tree saplings were distributed among them to encourage green practices for a sustainable future.
