Meherpur District Council Administrator Miazan Ali at Amjhupi Education Fair – Daily Mathabhanga

Daily Mathabhanga, February 23, 2014, Amjhupi Correspondent: On the second day of the three-day Education Fair organized at the Amjhupi Government Primary School field, in observance of International Mother Language Day and Shaheed Day, the chief guest was Adv. Miazan Ali, Administrator of Meherpur District Council.

In his speech, he emphasized that organizing education fairs in every union is essential to inspire children. He mentioned that through such fairs, children can become familiar with educational materials and gain knowledge in various fields.

Professor Saidur Rahman, President of the Community Education Watch Group, presided over the event. The welcome speech was delivered by Ashaduzzaman Selim, Executive Head of MOUK. The fair was organized by MOUK with support from the NGO Foundation.

Special guests included:

  • Enayet Ullah, Jail Superintendent of Meherpur District Jail
  • Ahad Ali Molla, renowned rhymester and News Editor of Daily Mathabhanga
  • Md. Anwar Hossain, Secondary Education Officer of Meherpur Sadar Upazila
  • Md. Alamin Hossain, President of Meherpur Press Club
  • A. Hannan Master, President of Upazila Lok Morcha

In his remarks, Ahad Ali Molla urged wealthy individuals to come forward in providing educational materials to disadvantaged children. He also stressed the importance of collective action in nurturing children’s potential and emphasized that preventing child marriage is crucial to reducing school dropout rates. This requires joint efforts from the administration, community, guardians, GOs, and NGOs.

Participants in the education fair included 20 government primary schools from Amjhupi Union, and organizations such as Save the ChildrenImpact FoundationSubah Samajik Unnayan SangsthaUpazila Agriculture OfficeAmjhupi Alim Madrasa, and Amjhupi Secondary School, all of whom had stalls displaying educational materials.

The event was conducted by human rights activist Sad Ahmad.
