Meherpur Observes International Noise Awareness Day 2026 with Rally and Discussion

Meherpur celebrated International Noise Awareness Day 2026 under the theme “No More Noise Pollution, We Want a Healthy Life.” The event was organized jointly by the Meherpur District Administration and the Department of Environment, Meherpur, with the aim of raising public awareness about the harmful effects of noise pollution and promoting a healthier and more peaceful environment.

The day’s program began with a rally, where participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of reducing unnecessary noise in public spaces. Officials, government employees, environmental advocates, students, and local residents took part in the awareness campaign, demonstrating their commitment to protecting public health and the environment.

Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Meherpur. The event was graced by Ms. Shilpi Rani Roy, Deputy Commissioner of Meherpur, as the Chief Guest.

During the discussion, speakers emphasized that excessive noise pollution is a growing environmental concern that affects both physical and mental health. They highlighted the need for greater public awareness, stricter enforcement of environmental regulations, and collective efforts to minimize unnecessary noise from vehicles, loudspeakers, construction activities, and other sources.

The organizers encouraged citizens to adopt responsible practices and contribute to creating quieter, healthier communities. They stressed that reducing noise pollution is not only an environmental responsibility but also an important step toward improving the overall quality of life.

The observance of International Noise Awareness Day 2026 in Meherpur reflected the shared commitment of government agencies and the community to building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for all.
